Probably the best way to describe the Sunday morning service is one that is rich with music. LWUMC is blessed with many talented musicians in the congregation. In addition to the congregational hymns, every service includes a musical offertory and a choral anthem. The service starts with a processional hymn led a Bible Bearer and Acolyte. The congregation offers praise weekly to God through the Doxology and Prayer following the offering. Finally, worship is concluded with the Acolyte carrying the flame into the world with the Bible Bearer, followed by a musical postlude.
The Sunday morning services follow classic, traditional liturgical practices. The congregation participates in prayer, including the Lord's Prayer, and a reading from scripture. The central feature of the worship service is the sermon, delivered by Rev. Kelly Dahlham-Oeth. Pastor Kelly's ability to distill scripture and real-life experiences into a meaningful message is a treasured gift.
After service you are welcome to walk across the Narthex to the Celebration space for coffee, tea, juice, and cookies. Spend some time and get acquainted with other people at Lake Washington UMC. Take a look around the facility and make yourself at home.
