At LWUMC, we believe that sharing rich life experiences together in a healthy, safe, and open environment built on mutuality and respect is the key to fostering Youth who are mature, thoughtful, Lovers of Neighbor. Below is a little bit about ourselves.
Sunday Morning Youth Gathering (6th-12th Graders)
Join us on Sunday mornings from 10am-11:15am as we explore what it means to live deeply into our calling to love all of those around us. Through reading, meditation, dialogue, service, and recreation together, we seek to build a community together where all are welcome. Explore together. Play together. Grow together. Learn more…
Wednesday After School Tutoring/Free Play Program (6th-8th Graders)
Our community offers weekly Tutoring Help, Homework Assistance, Free-Play Activities, and a Healthy, Kid- Friendly meal to local 6th-8th Graders in the Rose Hill/Bridal Trails area.
As members of the greater Redmond/Kirkland community, we know how difficult Early-Release Days [LWSD site] can be on parents who work regular hours during the week. And because a large number of our members are – or have been – teachers, we wanted to be able to share our time and resources with those in our community who just need a little extra help.
Every Wednesday (excluding Holiday weeks) during the school year, we offer tutoring, homework help, and free-play activities from 3:15pm-5:30pm, then a free, kid- friendly meal at 5:30pm. While the tutoring and games are open to students, the meal is designed for the whole family. That way, busy, tired parents don’t need to worry about trips to the store after work, cooking, or the messy cleanup afterwards. We’d love to see you there!
