Mission & Vision

Lake Washington United Methodist Church's mission is to share the love of Christ by reaching out, accepting people as they are, nurturing and strengthening one another in our living relationship with God, and going forth in faithful service and celebration.

Lake Washington United Methodist Church is a community in which Christ dwells, where each person is nurtured and challenged in their faith, strengthened for service in the world, and committed to sharing the good news of God’s grace.

•    We welcome seeking people into the Christian life.
•    We worship God in praise and thanksgiving.
•    We nurture one another in covenanted Christian community.
•    We serve our neighbors and strangers by following God’s call and using our gifts.

To orient and organize our life together: Each person in the congregation participates in at least one opportunity focused intentionally on Christian spiritual growth -- above and beyond Sunday worship. Each person in the congregation participates in at least one concrete act of caring for others in the church. Each person in the congregation is meaningfully connected to a group in the congregation that will minister to them, especially in times of need. Each member of the congregation accepts responsibilty for our life together as Lake Washington United Methodist Church: By offering their time and creativity in at least one area of service. By committing a portion of their financial resources to our shared ministry. By contributing their voice and listening in love to others to shape our common life. Each person in the congregation reaches out to at least one person outside the church, serving them in the name of Christ.
